About Shirley Wellstead

Shirley Wellstead Welcome to Shirley Wellstead Art. With a variety of wild and domestic animals, portraits, mystical and general themes, Shirley excels in creating art that captures the essence of all her subjects, right down to the finest detail. She paints with Oils and Acrylics and has received many commissions.

Shirley Wellstead has been painting since the 1980s - initially in oils and for friends. In the late 1990s she started using acrylics and silk paints. While working for a New Homes builder she had several commissions using acrylic on canvas and specialist paints on silk. These were painted in Abstract and Impressionist styles for both Show Home Designers and home buyers.

Since moving to Glastonbury, England with husband Ken, the feel of the magical place has further enhanced her creativity. Her love of animals is also clear to see as they appear in most of her paintings.

Painting styles include Impressionist Art, Semi Abstract and Fine Art. Shirley is always open for new ideas and styles, always changing, expressing life and seeing the Love in everything through her art.
